RCS Release Notes
2011-06-10 2.8.1.0
- Copy single setting from Unit to RCS on settings page.
- Some UI polish.
- Support for new License key format.
- Limit the size of a DB table that had unlimited growth potential.
- Bugfix, using non-ASCII characters in BS or Trinity settings caused the unit to be unable to connect.
2011-05-20 2.8.0.1
- Fix a problem where Old BSs using interface defaults was not displayed correctly in the BS-tree.
2011-05-06 2.8.0.0
- Internal adjustment of radio card identification.
This fixes problems where a BS with a broken or removed radio card
was not handled correctly.
NB! This update changes the DB in a way that restoring an old version
needs manual update of the database!
Previously the primary key for the radio tables was the radio mac,
now it is a DB generated id. The affected tables are:
- generic_radio_interface
- bs5480211abg_interface
- bs511_80211binterface
- Check DB version on startup, run DB-upgrade script if neccessary.
This will simplify restoring backups a bit.
- Set SSID rules to "manual" for all enabled virtual interfaces on
a newly connecting BS.
- Fix some problems with "Connected through".
- Improve the "refresh cache" internal debug/maintenence feature.
- Minor UI polish.
2011-03-15 2.7.2.3
- More Infoline improvements, split the page for nicer display - news page is now shown instead of the empty frame in RCS-view and system information has it's own link in the system menu.
- Minor UI polish. E.g. removed a false positive in the change detection on the new settings page.
- Adjusted internal logging to include the IP and port a BS connects to.
- Added a page with counts of BW-ruleset usage, for internal use. (Not linked, adjust the URL for the bandwidth page to request action=6)
- Bugfix, some problems with a BS could cause the client-page to fail to display.
2011-02-21 2.7.2.2
- Added an optional delay to the RCP protocol. Gives the option to trade system responsiveness for less traffic when "nothing" is happening.
- Polished Infoline page a little and added license information.
2011-02-08 2.7.2.1
- New encryption key, the current is old.
Fingerprints: MD5: 61 B0 54 2E 41 C7 AB 43 5B 44 C5 67 18 FE 98 B8 SHA-1: 04 6D 76 CD 16 7D BB 4A 7A 8F B1 2C 61 19 F1 91 BD EF 53 BD
- Added an optional additional backup destination. E.g. for directing files to a networked disk.
- Added start of Infoline functionality.
- Improve replace BS funktionality when migrating from BS52 and previous to the BS200 series basestations. (Still need manual check of settings.)
- Bugfix, manualy deleting backups on Windows.
- Bugfix, a late adjustment of v.2.7.1.1 stoped BS200 firmware from being registered in the RCS.
2011-01-11 2.7.1.3
- Added a "Delete anyway" button to allow deleting a BS the RCS thinks is online.
- Restructured handling of connecting BSs to make the RCS more resilient to large amounts of BSs connecting at the same time. E.g. when restarting the RCS in a large live network.
- Hide a problem where BS units on b/g channels is reported as not running on the selected channel.
- Fixed two situations where BSs could not connect because of obscure configuration changes that should only be possible in our lab. E.g. replacing Trinity software with BS software on a unit.
- Bugfix, deleting a client that had "disable" or "enable" operations pending caused scheduling to fail.
2010-11-30 2.7.1.2
- Bugfix, Could not save settings for Trinity units after adjustments of settings page to support BS 200 series.
- Bugfix, BS interface in client mode that had been connected to another BS was still noted as connected through that BS after changing to Master Mode, thus preventing the other BS from being deleted.
- Improved error message when existence of a BS "behind" another BS prevents deletion. Added names of BSs that prevents deletion.
2010-11-24 2.7.1.1
- Support for BS200 series of base stations.
- Minor optimization of statistics retrieval
- Minor UI fixes.
- Optimized statistics retrieval for BSs that support it, v.1.4.5 and later.
- Add batch delete from the rejected clients table.
- Bugfix, support for BS-5400 with old firmware (1.2.8 and earlier) broke in previous version.
- Bugfix, Don't store anything about RCMP capabilities if SU should handle RCMP but handshake failed.
- Accept BS handshake during standard operations, makes it easier for the BS to report state after a sync. E.g. auto channel selection.
- Bugfix, MySQL driver had changed behavior causing memory leaks during normal operations.
- Bugfix, hopefully fix a problem where scheduling DB backups did not work.
- Reduce startup time if there are many BS firmware images in the database.
- Fix a problem with statistics compression, statistics archive table was not updated correctly.

- Added a "Replace BS" button beside the BS MAC to make the action explicit.
2010-09-30 2.7.0.2
- Bugfix, statistics was not accessible until after statistics had been retrieved from base stations the first time after upgrade. Anyone that already have installed 2.7.0.1 does not need this one.

- Completed support for Trinity 50 TDD statistics.
- Minor UI polish.
2010-07-23 2.7.0.0 Internal release
- Basic support for Trinity 50 TDD. (Some rates will not be shown in statistics for 10MHz bandwidth.)
- Optimize Statistics overview a little, replaced a costly join with some extra lookups afterwards.
- Minor speedup of Base station tree and BS page.
- When lossy compression is disabled archive old statistics in separate tables for each year. This should speed up normal statistics views significantly.
- Make it possible to edit terminal types.
- Adjust DB handling so that once a client has reported handling RCMP it will be assumed to handle it even if it later says otherwise. This works around a situation where a bad connection might make the RCMP handshake between BS and client fail.
- Show upgrade button on BS page even if it is not enabled(RCS Basic) or not useful (No new firmware).
- Fix a potential out of memory exception when compressing statistics.
- Fix an infinite loop if the RCS was told a BS was connecting through an interface in client mode and this interface later changed to AP. Made it impossible to delete any base station. Reconfiguring the offending BS solved the problem, but which BS needed an updated setting was not obvious.
- Fix a display problem, SU-5511-R2 was displayed as SU-5410-R2.
- Fix a display problem where on/off-line clients was not shown directly when entering the Specific Statistics page. They did show up after making a selection.
2010-04-20 2.6.10.2

- BUGFIX, The new handshake message was not parsed correctly so associated clients did not show as on in the RCS. This was previously, until 1.4.2.3, hidden by a bug in the BS software. This is a "cosmetic" problem, but probably confusing to users.
- Adjusted channel selection to make it more obvious which protocol is used.
- Changed the handling when adding a sector to a network, clients that had tried to associate and was rejected are now allowed on before the reject time is up.
- Added display of radiocard type on the "Interface" page, requires BS FW 1.4.2.3.
- Cleanup some noise in the logs.
- Minor UI enhancements.
- Adjusted updatescript to make som updates conditional resulting in a significant speedup for moset updates.
- Removed the statistics table from the RCS startup DB checking, this reduces the RCS startup time significantly. The DB check at startup was added a long time ago to solve problems when the MySWL DB was not closed correctly, this is probably solved by MySQL 5. If you are running MySQL 4 and have uncontrolled reboots please check the DB tables manually.

- Bugfix, Base station capabilities was not set for when a BS was replaced by a new BS with more radio interfaces (or when moving radio cards between BSs, don't do that at home). Resulting in not being able to configure the new interface.
