The SyncMaster unit is a standalone unit that enables multiple Trinity master units to be synchronized. The SyncMaster also has a GPS receiver that enables multiple SyncMasters to be synchronized.
The Trinity master is using a TDD protocol to communicate with clients. Depending on how the Trinity network is built it can be needed to synchronize several units to enable more efficient channel usage and to minimize interference.
